HB 621 would prohibit the use of stem cells in any research or any therapy procedures if the stem cells were derived from aborted fetal tissue.
The bill would make it a felony—punishable by up to five years in prison and/or a fine of up to $50,000—to use stem cells in any research or any therapy procedures if the stem cells were derived from a “human embryo or human fetus that was destroyed, discarded or knowingly subjected to risk of injury or death.”
