HB 5717 would require each multiple occupancy bathroom or changing facility that is designated for student use to be designated for and used only by students based on their biological sex.
The bill defines biological sex to mean the “physical condition of being male or female, as stated on the individual’s birth certificate or a state-issued identification card.”
In addition, a governmental entity would need to require each of its publicly owned or leased multiple occupancy bathrooms or changing facilities to be designated for and only used by individuals based on their biological sex.
The bill further voids any local ordinance or policy that conflicts with this legislation.
