Louisiana Resolution Commending Crisis Pregnancy Centers (HCR 63)
This law was last updated on May 22, 2017
HCR 63 officially honors pregnancy resource centers also known as crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) throughout Louisiana and declares Thursday, May 11, 2017 as Pro-Life Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
The resolution commends the work of CPCs; acknowledges the so-called contributions they make to women’s reproductive health; and encourages state funding through the “Choose Life” license plates.
CPCs have come under increased scrutiny over the last several years, as investigations have revealed that centers across the country have provided inaccurate information and neglected to follow proper medical protocols. (Source.)
HCR 63 is based on the Americans United for Life (AUL) model legislation “Joint Resolution Honoring Pregnancy Resource Centers.”
Similar to SR 110, which passed in 2014.
Passed the house on May 9, 2017.
Passed the senate on May 10, 2017, by a 34-0 vote.
