Louisiana Abortion Refusal Clause (§ 40:1061.3)

Louisiana law prohibits any hospital, clinic or other facility or institution of any kind from being held civilly or criminally liable, discriminated against, or in any way prejudiced or damaged because of any refusal to permit or accommodate the performance of any abortion in said facility or under its auspices.
The law, enacted in 1973, does not require refusing entities to provide notification or referrals to patients seeking abortion services.
