Kentucky Face-to-Face Consultation Requirement 2013 (SB 4)
This law was last updated on May 22, 2015
SB 4 would have specified how the phrase “individual, private setting” should be interpreted in informed consent situations. An “individual, private setting” would have required a face-to-face consultation with the patient and their doctor, physician assistant, licensed nurse or physician-assigned social worker.
Passed the House 31-4 and was sent to the Senate. Referred to the Health and Welfare Committee where it died.
A new version of the bill, SB 3, was drafted for the 2014 legislative session. SB 3 failed to pass as well.
