Kentucky Bill Regarding Early Fetal Death Certificate (HB 257)
This law was last updated on Dec 19, 2014
HB 257 would have established a process for applying for and receiving an early fetal death certificate. This bill defines “early fetal death” as “a spontaneous fetal death prior to 20 weeks of gestation, based on a clinical estimate of gestation.” The bill states that the mother may receive a certificate after applying and paying a fee. The bill further states that an early fetal death will not be recorded as a fetal death.
Sent to the Health and Welfare Committee where it died.
