Full Bill Text
SB 4 would require that the counseling mandated by Kentucky’s informed consent law (K.R.S. § 311.725) be conducted in a face-to-face meeting. Current law, which requires a licensed nurse, physician, physician assistant, or social worker to tell a woman about risks of and alternatives to abortion, permits the information to be provided to the woman over the phone.
STATUS
This bill passed the Senate on January 9, 2015, but died in the House Health and Welfare Committee.
