This resolution officially honors pregnancy maintenance resource centers also known as crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) throughout Kansas.
At first glance enacting proclamations honoring CPCs around the country seems harmless, however this strategy lends legitimacy and government approval to CPCs despite their deceptive tactics. The resolution contains language commending the work of CPCs; acknowledging the so-called contributions they make to women’s reproductive health; encouraging federal and state funding for CPCs; and denouncing reproductive rights organizations that work to expose their deceptive tactics.
CPCs have come under increased scrutiny over the last several years, as investigations have revealed that centers across the country have provided inaccurate information and neglected to follow proper medical protocols. (Source.)
