SF 55 would have restricted the use of funds appropriated under or appropriated to any trust fund pursuant to the Affordable Care Act by prohibiting those funds from being used for an abortion in the state or for health insurance coverage, benefits, or services that include coverage for abortion.
The restrictions on the use of such funds for abortion or insurance coverage for abortion would not have applied if the woman suffers from a physical disorder, physical injury, or physical illness, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself, that would, as certified by a physician, place the woman in danger of death unless an abortion is performed.
STATUS
Identical to SF 29, which failed to pass in 2013.
