Full Bill Text
HB 5022 would require that a physician who is to perform an abortion offer any woman seeking an abortion after 8 weeks gestation an opportunity to view an active ultrasound of her fetus, except in cases of medical emergency. The offer would need to be made prior to the woman having any part of an abortion performed or induced, and prior to the administration of any anesthesia or medication in preparation for the abortion.
The woman’s response to the offer must be documented, including the date and time of the offer, and signed by the woman as an attestation to her informed decision to accept or decline the offer.
