Full Bill Text
HB 467 would establish and provide for the licensure of pregnancy termination specialty centers.
The bill would amend the Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center Act by providing that the definition of “ambulatory surgical treatment center” does not include a pregnancy termination specialty center.
Pregnancy Termination Specialty Centers
The bill would define “pregnancy termination specialty center” as any facility that performs 50 or more surgical abortions in one year.
The bill would require a pregnancy termination specialty center to be licensed to operate in the state. The bill goes on to describe a number of requirements the facilities would be expected to comply with.
The health department would be required to annually conduct at least one unannounced inspection at each center.
STATUS
If passed, the law would take effect immediately.
