This bill prohibits the distribution of public money to individuals or organizations that provide abortion services. The prohibition does not apply to abortions provided to save the life of the pregnant patient or in cases of rape or incest.

The prohibition also does not apply to hospitals that perform abortions due to medical emergency or if the fetus is not viable. Claims for public funding for abortion services before this bill was enacted will also be honored.

The prohibition applies to county, city, and state government as well as public health districts.
