H 64 would amend abortion complication reporting requirements to include information on a patient’s follow-up care after an abortion.
The bill would require every hospital, licensed health-care facility or individual medical practitioner required to submit a complication report to include the following additional information:
- Whether any post-abortion follow-up visit was scheduled or required and, if so, whether the pregnant person refused or failed to attend;
- Whether the pregnant person was referred to a hospital, emergency department, or urgent care clinic for treatment for any complications; and
- Any follow-up care, surgery, or aspiration procedure performed due to an incomplete abortion or retained tissue.
