Georgia Federal Abortion Mandate Opt-Out Act (SB 98)

SB 98 bans insurance coverage for abortion for all state employees and anyone buying insurance via the health insurance exchanges set up under the Affordable Care Act. The bill contains an exception for medical emergencies, but no exception for rape and incest.

This bill was signed into law by Gov. Nathan Deal in April 2014 and went into effect on July 1, 2014.
