SB 184 would have amended the Parental Notification Act (Ga. Code Ann. § 15-11-682) to provide for a waiver of parental notification requirements for an unemancipated minor if a court finds by clear and convincing evidence either: (1) that the unemancipated minor is mature enough and well enough informed to make the abortion decision in consultation with her physician, independently of the wishes of such minor’s parent or guardian; or (2) that the notice to a parent or guardian would not be in the minor’s best interest.
