Current
Florida Statutes section 390.0111(8) allows hospitals, hospital staff members, and any other persons associated with or employed by a hospital to refuse to provide abortion services. Any individual or organization that objects to such a procedure on moral or religious grounds may not be held liable or face any disciplinary or recriminatory action.
The law, enacted in 1979 and amended in 2011, does not require the refusing individual or entity to provide notification or referral services to any person seeking such services.
