SB 1360 would have amended Arizona’s informed consent statute (Ariz. Rev. Stat. §§ 36-2153 & 36-2158) to add a requirement that all private agencies listed on the Arizona Department of Health website as providing pregnancy-related information provide its clients information about all pregnancy-related options, including the right to a legal abortion, or post a sign in a conspicuous location that the agency does not provide information about abortion services.
This bill would have curbed the deceptive practices of crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) by requiring them to be honest about the types of services and counseling that they provide. It would have ensured that women who visit CPCs are receiving comprehensive counseling.
