HB 364 would prohibit the state from providing insurance coverage for gender reassignment medical procedures. The state would further be prohibited from paying for or reimbursing the cost of any gender reassignment medical procedure.
The bill defines “gender reassignment medical procedure” to mean a surgery or pharmaceutical drug therapy performed or supervised by a physician for the purpose of physiologically changing a person’s sex.
This would not only affect state employees, but people incarcerated in state correctional facilities as well.
