SB 89 is an education bill that would permit parents to direct their children’s education including permitting them to opt their children out of standardized testing.
An amendment introduced by Sen. Dunleavy would prohibit school districts from allowing an “abortion services provider” to provide course materials or instruction to students on sexuality or sexually transmitted diseases. (Source.)
The bill would prohibit a school district and an educational services organization that has a contract with a school district from contracting with an abortion services provider.
A school district may not permit an abortion services provider or an employee or volunteer of an abortion services provider who is acting on behalf of the abortion services provider to offer, sponsor, furnish course materials, or provide instruction relating to human sexuality or sexually transmitted diseases.
