PersonhoodFull Bill Text
HB 414 would redefine the term “persons” as used in the Code of Alabama to include “all human beings resulting from the union of the male sperm with the female egg either from sexual intercourse or in the case of in vitro fertilization, the fertilized egg or eggs relied on by a physician for implantation in the uterus.”
This bill would ban abortion, birth control pills, IUDs, and emergency contraception. In addition, it would eliminate certain medical choices for women, including some cancer treatments, in vitro fertilization, and might lead to investigation and prosecution of women who miscarry to determine if their own actions caused the death.
