Peter Staley joined ACT UP New York after its first demo in 1987, becoming an active member of its Treatment & Data Committee. He was the founding director of TAG, the Treatment Action Group, and later launched AIDSmeds.com, a leading HIV treatment information website. Peter’s activism is highlighted in David France’s new documentary about ACT UP and the Treatment Action Group (TAG) called HOW TO SURVIVE A PLAGUE (www.howtosurviveaplague.com), opening in theaters on September 21st.
