Esraa Bani

Esraa Bani a native from Darfur Sudan immigrated to the United States in 1998. She earned her MPH from the University of
Virgina with a concentration in Epidemiology and Research. Her
interests lie in Gender-Based Violence and HIV/AIDS Prevention. Esraa
was a 2007 Center for Global Health Scholar. Esraa Joined Population Action International (PAI) in 2007.Prior to PAI, Esraa was a
Program Coordinator at the Lorna Sundberg International Center, an
International UN Volunteer in Sudan, and assisted in implementing a
UNFPA/UNDP pilot study about utilizing volunteerism and local community
mobilization to eradicate Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C).
She has also volunteered with the Sudanese National AIDS Prevention
Program (SNAP), Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and Habitat
for Humanity.
