Heidi Williamson

Heidi Williamson is the senior policy analyst for the Women’s Health and Rights program at the Center for American Progress and the Center for American Progress Action Fund. She is a founding member of the Trust Black Women Partnership, a strong network of African-American organizations and individuals who mobilize to defend Black women’s human rights to have a child, not have a child, and parent.

She has been published in the Huffington Post; seen on MSNBC; and heard on NPR and various CBS radio outlets. Her publications include Race, Gender, and Abortion in Georgia: A Policy Report and Reproductive Justice in the South: A Case for Education, Prevention, and Policy, and most recently, The Pillars of Equity: A Vision for Economic Security and Reproductive Justice. She also sits on the board of SPARK Reproductive Justice Now!, an Atlanta reproductive justice organization and regularly advises nonprofits on civic engagement activities and legislative strategy.
