Debbie McMillan

Transgender Health Empowerment

Debbie McMillan is a transgender woman born and raised in Washington D.C. Debbie is currently employed with Transgender Health Empowerment as CRCS Specialist and Wellness center coordinator. A former sex worker and drug user, Ms. McMillan is concerned with issues that African American transgender women face, particularly their risk of HIV. She delivered the first transgender speech in the history of the International AIDS Conference in 2012 where she called on the International AIDS Committee to include high risk groups in the design of programs and policies to prevent the spread of HIV.
