Dawn Hill is now retired and living in Northern California. She has two children, and eleven grand and great grandchildren. She put herself through college as a nursing assistant and now has an AA, BA, and MA in Spanish, English, and Teaching English as a Second Language respectively. She has lived in 3 countries and 5 states, including Alaska, for time taught English to the Italian Air Force, and spent twenty years fighting for civil rights as a legal assistant. She originally shared this story in response to a call from advocacy group UltraViolet, a group of women and men fighting sexism in the media, politics, and government.
