Plan B is a contracpetion, sometimes confused by ideologues with the prescribed abortion medicine (RU-486) revealing that they remain opposed to contraception as well as abortion. The larger issue is the reckless rhetoric and policies pursued by ideologues that prevent women access to this contraceptive under the mistaken notion that it will promote promiscuity.
The FDA continues to delay over the counter approval for emergency contracpetion, calling into question its independence and the Bush Administration's real commitment to reducing unintended pregnancy and abortion.
